Custom Builds

Getting a new computer is equally exciting as it exhausting. Buying a prebuilt computer is expensive. Companies mark up their product significantly for profit. Medium to high end prebuilt computers will often cost well over $1,000, they come as one unit and generally will be completely replaced once a component becomes obsolete. There is a better way - custom builds!

For those that don’t know, custom build computers are bought in components (CPU, RAM, Hard Drive, SSD, etc) and put together like LEGOs. Building a computer this way will bring down the price by several hundred dollars usually and if a component becomes obsolete, it can be replaced easily and far cheaper than a whole new system.

Many people avoid custom builds because it can be intimidating, especially when handling a particularly expensive component, and that is why I’m here.

Please describe your ideal budget and what you intend to use the machine for and I will get to work curating parts. After I find parts I think are suitable, I will send my finds over to you along with the final price (cost of all parts + $100 for labor). If you change your mind at this point, you are welcome to refuse. If you choose to go forward, I will order the parts (often from Newegg.com but sometimes I can find them for cheaper elsewhere). Then I will assemble the computer, install the OS and make sure it works before returning the finished machine.

A custom build middle end gaming PC will usually cost between $800 and $1,000.
